Letcha Mail Club
My grandmother Letícia was born in 1934, the youngest of 15 siblings, into a family of Italian immigrants in the interior of São Paulo.
In those days, women didn't go to school. She remained illiterate until she was 50.
When I was around 10, I would sit next to her and write the letters she dictated to the family. She was the one who chose every word. I only lent my hand.
The excitement when the postman arrived was indescribable. The whole family would sit down to read and re-read each envelope. That's how we learned about births, celebrations, and also the passing of loved ones.
It was the 80s. Very few people had phones at home. Letters were our social network.
What is the Letcha Mail Club
A monthly subscription of art and emotional memory.
Every month you receive in your mailbox a sealed envelope with a wax seal — inside it, a print of an original watercolor artwork, a typewritten letter from my 1970 Olivetti Lettera 32, and a kit of items that together form a small ritual of slowing down and affection.
Why a physical subscription in 2026?
Because some things don't arrive by notification.
The Letcha Mail Club exists to bring back the pleasure of receiving something made with intention, sent with affection, and designed to stay — not to be archived or deleted.
